Fresh News
Week of November 3rd, 2008
It is exciting times at Sickles Market! This week our entire frontline of Deli equipment is being replaced with all new equipment. The deli (ONLY!) will be closed on Monday. Lots of grab and go stuff will still be available over in the cheese department. Tuesday, we will re open the Deli with a whole fresh new look, great specials, and the same friendly smiling faces as before! There are lots of improvements going on here to make your shopping experience at Sickles Market even better. Soon, a brand new whole store generator will be installed. No more blackouts for Sickles Market! I have been sick and tired of the endless blackouts that have been occurring in our area over the past few years. This past June with two blackouts in two days during a heat wave, was the last straw and I have decided that the only cure is a generator. Now, we will no longer lose products or business and you can be assured of a place to shop for food, bread, milk and necessities when the lights go out, inevitably, again.
We are celebrating again! Yes, as our 100th year anniversary begins to wind down into its final months we are having a party at one of the best and longest lived restaurants in Red Bank, Danny’s Steakhouse, Seafood and Sushi Bar. Danny’s history in the area is as deep and rich as ours. He writes often about the past history of Red Bank and the surrounding area in the Two River Times. For me the articles are always fascinating as I have heard many of the stories from my own parents and grandparents and of course many I have not. They are all very interesting.
The party will take place on Sunday November 30th from 5pm-9pm at Dannys restaurant on 11 Bridge Avenue in Red Bank. Danny and his talented staff have prepared an excellent fall menu and are at the end of this letter for your perusal. The cost is $75.00 per person including wine and gratuity. Mixed drinks and beer are available at the bar for cash. The style is casual buffet and passed hors d’oeuvres. Please feel free to bring a special bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary to be shared or kept for your own consumption. Sickles Market will present one of the most fabulous cheese boards we have ever presented and I will have a special selection of dessert wines to accompany them. Desserts will be homey and sophisticated and include some of our wonderful homemade fudge. As you can see from the menu Danny and his chef Cameron will have some surprises of their own. Beautiful desserts both homey and fancy will end the evening. The party is strictly limited to 120 first come first served guests. Please call the restaurant to make your reservation at 732-741-6900.
This will be a dinner and a party to remember! I hope to see many of my friends and customers there and I cannot think of a better way to kick off the holiday season.
