Sickles Market Blues FestivalJuly 11th, 11:00am - 4:00pm Enjoy Summertime with the Family at Sickles Market's Annual Blues Festival. The Blues Festival features music, a blueberry pie eating contest for kids and employees, face painting, balloons, and grilling demonstrations. Blueberry Pie Eating ContestOne of Sickles Market's famous family traditions, the Blueberry Pie Eating Contest is a great time for kids and parents. The winners will receive Sickles Market Goodie Bags. Sign up early because we have a limit of 16 contestants for each category. You must sign up by 10am on Saturday July 11, 2009. There are two age group categories for the contest. Category I for ages 5-10 and Category II for ages 11-16. A prize will be awarded to the winner of each category. Category I contestants will eat 1/4 pie slices, while Category II contestants will eat 1/2 pie slices. Please note, the use of hands is not permitted. The event can get messy! We will provide a covering, but please wear old clothing. Sickles Market will not be responsible for stains. The pies will be weighed before and after consumption.
